Cat fishing on the Potomac River – Fast action with blue cats up to 20 pounds and a shot at a fish much larger.
Mid April to Mid May
Trolling for trophy rockfish on the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay – Most consistent fishing for trophy fish we will have all year.
Mid May to Mid June
Chumming for school size rockfish – Light tackle action with fish from undersize to close to 30 inches, and possibly a bluefish or croaker.
Mid June to Mid September
Light tackle trolling or jigging for bluefish, Spanish mackerel, and rockfish – This is the time of year for schooling fish chasing bait and a possible shot at a big red drum.
Mid September to Early November
Chumming and livelining for rockfish – The best time of year for school sized rockfish with light tackle and should be good numbers of bluefish until the first frost as well.
November and December
Trolling for trophy rockfish – Good shot at fall run trophies heading down the coast.
