2018 looks to be another great year at Bay River Fishing. We have started our season a little early this year by moving up to Goose Bay Marina and fishing for blue catfish. We will be fishing for them until April 8th. If you would like to try something a bit different, book a trip for blue cats. The trophy rockfish season opens on April 21 and runs til May 15. We will be operating as normal out of Pt. Lookout Marina in Ridge MD. On May 16 the size limit for rockfish will be reduced to 19″ with a bag limit of 2 per person. This should provide some great light tackle chumming action until July. Our summertime fishing over the last few years has been very good and we hope it will continue this year. July, August, and September should provide fast action with bluefish and Spanish mackerel with a chance at a keeper rockfish, red drum, or cobia. October has always been a great time to light tackle chum or live line for rockfish and bluefish. November and December should be great once again trolling for the fall run rockfish. If you would like to book a trip for any of these fisheries please give me a call or text at 301-904-7922 or email at email@example.com
The 2016 trophy rockfish season will open on April 16 this year. We still have a few open dates for the trophy season. The last few years we have had pretty decent fishing from the end of May till mid June for the school size rockfish. Hopefully this year will be the same. Get in touch with us to set up a trophy trip or a trip for the school size fish.
The 2015 trophy season will open April 18. We are looking forward to another good year. We still have a few open dates so give us a call and set up your trip today.
We still have April 25th, May 3rd, and 9th available for trophy rockfish trolling trips. These are prime dates and should be good fishing. Also the chumming and light tackle fishing will start May 17th. There are still some prime dates available for that fishing as well.
Sorry for a lack of posts but we were pretty busy fishing and hunting this past fall. There was a decent bite on school size rockfish until the season went out December 31. The trophy fish were few and far between this fall. Ever since then the ice has kept us from getting in on the blue cats but hopefully the next few weeks will warm up and we can get a trip or two in for them. Even though it has not been a fishing friendly winter, the trophy rockfish season is right around the corner. We still have a few prime dates left. Give me a call at 301-904-7922 to book a trip.
The fishing has been pretty consistent for the last few weeks. Lots of perch, bluefish, and red drum in the shallow water early and late. Bluefish, Spanish mackerel, and small rock schooling on the edges chasing bait with some big red drum mixed in sometimes. Bottom fishing for croaker, spot, king whiting, and trout has been good as well. Late summer in Southern Maryland is a great time to fish!
We are back in action. Check back on the regular for fishing updates.
